I hear all the time from women in loss " I just can't do this". That's just not true (it's a lie your telling yourself). How do I know this. Because you are doing it. A more truthful statement is "I don't want to do this". At least that's true. But, it's just not serving you. Try I'm learning to do this or I can do hard things or I may not like this but I'm a rock star at doing it. Any of those are more empowering. All thoughts are optional but if you truely want different and you want more and you want to find some joy, then stop talking to yourself in ways that don't empower you. Tuesday's for me are for thought work. I do daily thought downloads, but on Tuesday's I concentrate on a subject that I am struggling with. Today I dumped my brain around frustration with the tech portion of my coaching business. What is a thought download, and what are the benefits? A thought download is just that - dumping or downloading all the "crap" in your head. It benefits you by “clearing” your head of all the confusion. Your brain thinks you’ve handled some of it and releases it. Try it today and see for yourself. Here is how you do it. · grab a pen and paper · write down anything that pops in your head (all of it) · don't worry if it's good or bad (expect the bad to outweigh the good in quantity for a while. · don't edit content or grammar just dump · don't overthink...don't even think just dump There - you did it! Recently I was asked what is my why? Have you ever thought about that? It’s ever evolving, not necessarily changing, becoming clearer all time. Best way for me to define my why is... Be an example to the world (young men women and kids) that you can make the choice to find and choose joy in every aspect and event of your life. Making not only your life better but those around you as well. I am just voicing this out loud since losing Randy but as I think about in my life I’ve always tried to be happy and joyful, it’s the base of who I am. I definitely have gotten lost along the way but smiling, joy and happiness always help me find my way out. If we can all learn that our feelings are what control our actions and results, we can change anything for the better. Simple things such as saying “I get to do” vs “I have to do” change your mindset and therefore the result for you and others. I’m a work in progress, but my heart knows and seeks the joy/happiness result. My hope as I practice I train my mind to follow my heart instead of the other way around you will see and feel me living a chosen joy filled life.
